Community leaders join together to bring a common sense approach to securing
jobs and improving the quality of life for our community.
In an effort to secure jobs and improve the quality of life for the citizens
of Redondo Beach, the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau
(the Chamber) Board of Directors unanimously approved its new political
action committee at its monthly meeting this morning. A committee of
community leaders involved in the chamber worked for six months to bring the
proposal to the Chamber’s board of directors.
The official name of the Chamber’s political action
committee is “Citizens for a Better Redondo Beach” (CBRB). The CBRB board of
directors will endorse candidates for Redondo Beach City Council and state
legislative races in the Redondo Beach area. The PAC board of directors will
follow a detailed candidate endorsement process to ensure a fair and balanced
approach to an endorsement.
“This is a historic day for our community,” stated Glenn Bishop, Chairman of the
Chamber and a member of the CBRB. “The Chamber will continue the effort to
improve the quality of life in our community though our endorsements of
candidates for city council, local issues and state legislative races,” he
continued.
The formation of a political action committee is another major step for the
Chamber towards increasing its political grassroots role within the Redondo
Beach community. The CBRB is a value-added benefit for Chamber members and its
work will impact the Redondo Beach community.
